In April of this year, the University of Tokyo and Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DND i　) have signed an agreement to share information in order to evaluate potential research collaboration on clinical trials relating to Leishmania in Bangladesh.

This important step opens the potential for a more formal collaboration in which the University of Tokyo and DNDi could work more closely on researching diagnostics and treatment regimens for leishmaniasis, together with local partners such as ICDDR,B and government agencies of Bangladesh.
